ROOTS
Building Future Champions
Introduce younger kids to the sport of wrestling. This is a fun workout with an emphasis on learning through games and movement. ROOTS meets 1-2x per week for 1 hour.
What You'll Learn
- Tumbling and Agility
- Body weight strength exercises
- Learn the basic rules of wrestling
- Play wrestling games (shoe lace tag, flag tag, sumo)
- Learn basic techniques: stance, shooting, sprawling, half-nelson, stand-up

Saplings
Growing Through Wrestling
Expanding on the basics of wrestling. This will be a fun workout with a continuing emphasis on gymnastics and body control while introducing more basic technique to the wrestlers. Saplings meet 1x per week for 1 hour. Those that attended the ROOTS program will be selected first.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear to practice?
Comfortable athletic clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt. Wrestling shoes are recommended but not required for beginners. No jeans, zippers, or jewelry.
What's the difference between ROOTS and Saplings?
ROOTS is designed for younger beginners (ages 4-10) with a focus on fun and basic movement. Saplings builds on ROOTS foundations for wrestlers ages 6-12 who are ready for more technique-focused training.
Does my child need wrestling experience?
No! Both programs are designed for beginners. ROOTS is perfect for kids with zero wrestling experience.
Can parents watch practice?
Yes, parents are welcome to observe from the designated viewing area.
